According to TurkStat, imports of PVC to Turkiye increased by 4% in Q1 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, rising from 232,122 t to 242,057 t. Notably, the share of US-origin PVC grew significantly, going from 16% to 26%, as quotes of PVC from the USA were the most attractive for Turkish buyers. As a result, shipments of US-origin PVC increased by 62%.
Supply from Sweden, Mexico, and Germany surged by 54%, 12%, and 51%, respectively. On the other hand, Turkish buyers constrained polymer sourcing from France, Egypt, Norway, and Russia by 16%, 4%, 29% and 34%, respectively. Imports from both Belgium and South Korea remained largely unchanged.
